Creme of the Cup

Delaware Kitchen Share helped my business by providing me a place that I can bake my product. Without DeKS I wouldn't be able to operate and sell my product legally. So, for that it has helped my business tremendously.

I have zero complaints and would absolutely suggest and recommend Delaware Kitchen Share to any start-up. Not only have they helped my business, but they go out of their way to make sure everything I need is provided. DT and Antoinette are polite, easy to talk with, down to earth, friendly and very accommodating. That in itself is priceless. Timing and scheduling is gruelling but Delaware Kitchen Share does a great job.

Delaware Nutri-Need

Delaware Nutri Need, Inc. has been so blessed to have found Delaware Kitchen Share.  We desperately needed a commercial space to start our program providing meals for child care centers in New Castle county.  We were able to not only get started but the rates are reasonable and the hours are flexible.  I was convinced this kitchen was heaven sent.

If it were not for the kitchen being available, already inspected and up to code.  I don’t know if we would have ever gotten our business off the ground.  It has been a wonderful experience and pleasure to work with and in Delaware Kitchen Share. If you’re thinking about getting your catering business started or even just need a commercial space to use occasionally, don’t hesitate to call them.

Delaware Kitchen Share has been an essential part of my business going on its 3rd year. Excellent place. Excellent owners.

Hors D'oeuvres by Betsy

Elizabeth Coons

I've always enjoyed cooking for friends and family.  One day a friend suggested I start up my own catering business.  I began my search for a shared-use commercial kitchen.  I had put forth in my business plan that the business would remain as a small catering company, and I did not have the capital to invest in a fully-equipped kitchen. I was eventually referred to Delaware Kitchen Share.  I signed up to use the kitchen, secured the proper insurance, legal and health department requirements and was able to start Hors d'oeuvres by Betsy. I also took an entrepreneurial course offered by SCORE which was personally helpful to me.

The owners and managers of Delaware Kitchen Share are very helpful and knowledgeable about the equipment in the kitchen.  The rates are competitive if not somewhat lower than other shared-use kitchens I've researched.  Besides unlimited use of the equipment in the kitchen, there is dry storage, refrigerator and freezer space for rent.  The hours fit my schedule, and the location is easy to get to.

I've been with Delaware Kitchen Share for close to 4 years now. My business has grown, and it would not have happened without the kitchen. It is a perfect fit for me.

Madison's Smoked BBQ

David and Denise Madison

Several years ago, when Madison’s Smoked BBQ began the search for a state approved service area, we had several requirements that needed to be met. Referring to our list for the perfect site; we needed a space that could accommodate both our work and vendor schedules. The space had to be clean, well-organized, conveniently located and friendly. We also wanted to be comfortable in the space where we would eventually spend a lot of prep time.

We immediately connected with the owners, DT and Antoinette. They were very receptive to our needs as new business owners and gave us the facility tour. Our requirement list was easily satisfied and the fully equipped kitchen was perfect for us to prep for upcoming events. The DeKS facility would also allow our small business to be compliant with state regulators.

Now that our business has grown and we will be moving on to our own facility, we would like to thank DeKS for offering exceptional support services to our business.

Supreme Vinegar

Using the kitchen helped me set up and start making vinegar without the huge outlay for a kitchen and equipment before I had a customer base. Delaware Kitchen Share was a great help, an excellent and crucial two years to get my business off the ground until lI got my own space. In addition, the facility operation and cleaning tips I learned from DT and Antoinette made running my own place seamless rather than learning on the fly.

If you're on the fence about whether to work with Delaware Kitchen Share or not, I would definitely recommend you give it try. It will help you keep in good stead with the health authorities and also help you learn a lot about running and operating a food business with much less of a risk of expensive mistakes. You can also find out what equipment you really do (or don't) need.
